Love is Like the Elements

Love is like water

Washing over humanity

Filling them to the brim

An intoxicating elixir

A wine not meant for animals

So crude and mean

That they bring about the end

Of the world they knew

Love is like water

Too good for humanity

Love is like the earth

The deep brown earth

That saves all life

Nourishes it and makes it grow

To overcome the earth

Which gave itself to life

Love lasts for untold ages

Earth's love for life allows life

Love holds the earth

Allows it to face the decisions

It has made

Will always make

Earth holds life, and love,

Too closely, too precious

Love is like the air

Love, and air, are silent

Meting out the punishments

Unknown to the emotions of

What they hurt

Unspeaking, unflinching

Not knowing how to help

Air, and love, push forward

Progress, hopes, and dreams

Keeping back nothing

Unable to withhold their transparency

Love is like fire

Short and fast

Bright for seconds

Erased forever

Issuing towards the very ends of the universe

Never to reach, never to touch

Trying to escape

Burning bright, too bright to last

Light and heat

Escaping

Never stopping

Never ceasing

Growing farther and farther

Never reaching the end

Love is like fire

Both burn too bright

And too fast in the end
